I went to a mountain about altitude 800m to celebrate the late cherry blossoms on April 14th. On this day, I heard songs of Oriental Cuckoo and Eastern Crowned-warblers for the first time in 2024, and there were some Eurasian Bullfinches in the flock of Japanese Grosbeak, probably Eurasian Bullfinch would be the last time for me 2024 spring.
2024年春は桜の開花後に寒さが続いたので、4月中旬でも山ならばまだ楽しめるのではないかと車で適当な場所を目指したところ、標高800m付近では、まだ咲き始めの桜もあるほどでした。ツツドリとセンダイムシクイを声も聞こえ、冬鳥のウソの姿もまだありました。季節の変わり目らしい、楽しい体験でした。

After sunset, surprisingly I could hear the voice of the Japanese Night Heron from 18:45 to 18:53 on this day. It was the changing of the season, when the numbers of winter birds decrease and the first sightings of summer birds increase.
