ユリカモメ Following

2014年11月11日、上野不忍池でユリカモメの標識個体を確認し、番号が読み取れたので山階鳥類研究所に報告しました。

すると、昨年神奈川県川崎市で標識された個体だという連絡をいただきました。今年は2月と4月に確認されていたそうですが、今期は初とのこと。

日本を越冬地として再び選んでくれたことをうれしく思いました。

野鳥への標識はいろいろ論議を呼んでいますが、標識個体がどこかで観察されたり回収されたりして記録が積み重なっていくことは、野鳥の生態解明と保全策のためにも重要なことだと考えています。

昔は必死になって双眼鏡や望遠鏡で少しずつ番号を読み取っていましたが、今はネオ一眼で撮影して気軽に番号が読み取れる時代になりました。

もし皆さんも標識個体を見かけたら番号の読み取りと報告をしていただければ幸いです。

標識されたユリカモメの脚　Ringed Black- headed Gull

I found a ringed gull at Shinobazu-no-ike pond in Tokyo.

I reported the number to the Yamashina Ornithology Institute, the gull was ringed last year in Kanagawa.

Some Japanese birdwatchers dislike ringing on birds, but my point of view, it is very important to know bird in detail, migration route, how long they live, and so on.

I really wish that please send your record to any local bird group or bird institute to “develop” ornithology, if you find a ringed bird. Your following will be very useful for saving birds!
