メジロ Migratory or Resident

留鳥と言われているメジロですが、渡りの途中ではないかと思う光景に会うことがあります。写真の2羽のメジロは高空より急降下してきて一休みした後に、再びやや高い空を西へ向かって一直線に飛んでいきました。

他のメジロとは行動が違ったように感じています。

When I was at a migratory bird site, I saw Japanese white-eyes (Generally it is said that resident bird in Japan)  flew down from a high sky and stopped on a branch, toward the west after catching some insects and chatting each other. I thought they were not resident, but migrating exactly at that time.
