Winter Birds

冬鳥を探して、近所をうろうろしました。

I walked in my patch to look for winter birds on 3rd Dec. I could see some dusky thrushes, common snipes.  I hope that all visitors enjoy winter in Japan.

ツグミ　Dusky Thrush

タシギ　Common Snipe

ケリ　Grey-headed Lapwing

It is said that Grey-headed Lapwing is resident bird in Japan, but winter bird in my patch.

カワセミ　Common Kingfisher

Perhaps this wigeon is hybrid or masculinization. Please let me know if you know the answer! 

ヒドリガモかアメリカヒドリの雄化個体か交雑個体のようなものがいました。脇腹の羽毛にヒドリガモ雄のような模様のものがありますが、頭部にはアメリカヒドリの特徴が出ている感じがしています。

もう少し季節が進めばわかってくるかもしれません。今後確認していきたいと思います。
