やんばるの森の中で長年進めてきたマングースと猫の対策の成果が出て、ヤンバルクイナの個体数増加のニュースが聞いていたので、さぞ観察しやすいかと思っていましたが、現在やんばるの森の中で野犬が増加しており、野犬（ノイヌ）の群れの行動範囲となっているエリアではヤンバルクイナの気配がないという事態になっていました。

世界遺産の登録を目指す沖縄・やんばる。早急な対策が必要です。現在野外にいる犬を悪者にしない策（まずは全頭捕獲して、できれば里親探しだと思います）が順調に進むことを祈ります。
The Okinawa rail, an endemic bird & living in sub-tropical forest around the North Okinawa in Japan (It is called the Yambaru) , has crisis to extinct again by stray dogs. Okinawa sub-tropical forest brings up endangered wildlife, the okinawa rail, for good example.
The big issue will be a serious problem to be added on the list of the world Natural Heritage Site in near future. Ministry of the Environment need to start catch them as soon as possible to save endemic & endangered wildlife in Yambaru, I hope.
