Raptor Migration 2023 report Vol.2

2023年猛禽類の渡りの観察地2カ所目では、これまでにない多数のタカの渡る光景を観察できました。9:10頃に現地到着して私が観察道具の準備中に同行者のNgさんがすぐにハチクマを発見、その後はタカ柱がいくつもできました。

My second location where the point I have been observing since 2017, was inland. I was very surprised watching more hawks than ever before. Several large flocks of hawk were formed using updrafts. After watching the migration with friends, we talked about the total number of hawks, roughly over 2000. We hope to have another opportunity like this in the future.

Gray-faced Buzzards

Some migrating birds, Brown-eared Bulbuls and Japanese Green Pigeons for example, were seen in the morning only in the record so far. However I saw the birds this year until the end of the afternoon observation. I expected that the weather had not been good up to that day. Many birds, not only hawks, must be waited the day, to be able to fly for the south.

例年ならば、午後にはタカやそれ以外の鳥の動きが途絶えるのですが、1〜数羽も含めると、今年は観察を終了した16:00頃までほぼ絶え間なく渡っていました。

Eastern Buzzard この個体は留鳥の可能性が高い

ヒタキ類も今回のバードウォッチングの期間に観察しました。
