平和祈念公園 Pure Mind for Peace

2/1〜4まで沖縄へ取材で訪問していました。

今回も現地でKさんに会って、多くの時間を森林の中で過ごすというのは “いつも通り” ですが、一人で那覇に入ったので、今まで友人と一緒のときには訪問先に含めにくかった場所へ足を向けることができました。その場所は、平和祈念公園。

私がこうして沖縄で楽しく過ごせるのは、沖縄を含む多くの方々の犠牲の上に成り立っていることを心に刻みたいと思っておりました。この公園の石碑に刻まれた多くのお名前を見ることで、戦争という愚かな行為を二度としてはいけないという想いを再確認しました。

日本の今の平和の意味を深く考える機会を１人で沖縄へ行くときには確保していきたいと思います。

I visited Okinawa as a solo trip to watch endemic birds in sub-tropical forest and write articles about them.

Before I went to the forest, I could have a time to go to the peace memorial park where I wanted to go there for a long time.

There were a lot of names which were victims of the WWⅡ on the black stones, not only Japanese but also U.K, U.S, Taiwan and so on. I really respect the Okinawa people.

Because they do not want to make difference to nationality for each life.

They desire simply “ No More War ”, I think.

I was impressed pure mind of the Okinawa people for peace.
