スワロフスキー防振フィールドスコープ Swarovski AT/ST Balance

スワロフスキーが、“防振フィールドスコープ ” を発表しました！

Swarovski Optik has announced a "field scope with stabilizer".

初めて製品概要をお聞きした際には「フィールドスコープに防振?」と思いましたが、実機に触れると双眼フィールドスコープ  BTXのとき同様の《観察する感動》がありました。フィールドスコープ に防振機能搭載への懐疑的な考えは、ガラガラと音を立てて崩れていきました。スワロフスキーの作る光学製品には、いつも驚かされ、そして納得させられます。

When I first heard about the product, I thought, "An anti-vibration fieldscope?!" But when I actually touched the actual product, I felt the same "excitement for observation" as I did with the BTX binocular fieldscope. My skepticism about anti-vibration features in fieldscopes was quickly shattered. I am always amazed and convinced by the optical products made by Swarovski.

直視型と傾斜型があり、傾斜型のほうが対物レンズが大きいです。

スタビライザー機能は本体下側のボタンを押すと起動し、電源を切るときには再度少し長めに押します。バッテリーは付属のリチウムイオン充電池となります。

The stabilizer function can be activated by pressing the button on the bottom of the device, and to turn it off, press and hold it again. The battery is a lithium-ion rechargeable battery included.

直視型は肩から下げて、手で持ちながら使っても、飛んでいる鳥を追うことができることに感動しました。これならばタカの渡りで翼先分離をフィールドスコープ で確認できると思います（雲台に載せる部分を人差し指と親指で掴む、銃を構えるような感じで持つと安定しました）。

I was impressed that the direct-view type can be used to track birds in flight, even when hung from the shoulder or held in the hand. I think this would allow me to check for wingtip separation in migrating hawks using a field scope (I found it more stable by holding the part that rests on the camera platform between my index finger and thumb, as if holding a gun).

水面から腹部を少し出して羽繕いするカンムリカイツブリを傾斜型で観察すると、水平移動する姿を追っても像が安定しており、足指に黄色い縁取りがあるのが手の取るようにわかりました。

防振起動時の見え方は、普通の雲台に載せていても手持ちでも、

『画面の動きのなめらかさが、まるでジンバル雲台で観ているかのよう』

そんな雰囲気と言えば伝わりますでしょうか。直視型・傾斜型を問わず、フィールドスコープ を手持ちで観察できるのが、とてもおもしろく、そしてすごいです。

試用日は穏やかな天候でしたが、スワロフスキーの防振の真価は風の強い日のシギチドリ観察や陸からの海鳥観察で、画面が全くぶれることなく鳥を追うときに発揮するのではと思います。また、船上からの海鳥観察で、手持ちや三脚に据えた時にどのくらい像が安定するのかは、ぜひ一度試してみたいです。

Being able to observe with a handheld fieldscope is both fascinating and amazing. The weather was calm on the day I tried it out, but I think the true value of Swarovski's vibration-damping will be apparent when observing shorebirds on a windy day or seabirds from land, allowing me to track birds without any blurring on the screen. I'd also love to try it out for myself to see how stable the image is when I observe seabirds from a boat, either handheld or mounted on a tripod.
